Medical Requirements

PCAA requires atleast a CLASS 2 Medical to become a professional pilot. This detailed medical examination is a basic yet most important requirement from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authorities (PCAA) to proceed and your pilot certificate is worthless without a valid medical certificate. Getting a Class 2 medical certificate is also the very first step towards getting Student Pilot License to strat formal flying training.

MEDICAL CERTIFICATE INFORMATION

PCAA MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PRIVATE PILOT’S LICENSE (CLASS 2)

A CLASS 2 medical is mandatory for Personnel holding PPL, SPL, GPL, Free Balloon Pilots, Flight Radio Telephone Operators. Ultra Light Aircraft Operators and Cabin Crew Attendants.

PCAA MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR COMMERCIAL PILOT’S LICENSE (CLASS 1)

Class 1 Medical requires all the tests done for Class 2 Medical  plus two or three extensive tests e.g. EEG etc. A CLASS 1 Medical is mandatory for Personnel holding ATPL, CPL, Flight Engineer and Flight Navigator’s Licenses.

RENEWAL OF MEDICAL LICENSES

FOR PRIVATE PILOT’S LICENSE:

A yearly renewal of Class II medical Certificate is required.

FOR COMMERCIAL PILOT’S LICENSE:

A yearly renewal of Class I medical Certificate is required.
