PCAA requires atleast a CLASS 2 Medical to become a professional pilot. This detailed medical examination is a basic yet most important requirement from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authorities (PCAA) to proceed and your pilot certificate is worthless without a valid medical certificate. Getting a Class 2 medical certificate is also the very first step towards getting Student Pilot License to strat formal flying training.

PCAA MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PRIVATE PILOT’S LICENSE (CLASS 2)
A CLASS 2 medical is mandatory for Personnel holding PPL, SPL, GPL, Free Balloon Pilots, Flight Radio Telephone Operators. Ultra Light Aircraft Operators and Cabin Crew Attendants.
It is one of the extensive Examination of:

PCAA MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR COMMERCIAL PILOT’S LICENSE (CLASS 1)
Class 1 Medical requires all the tests done for Class 2 Medical plus two or three extensive tests e.g. EEG etc. A CLASS 1 Medical is mandatory for Personnel holding ATPL, CPL, Flight Engineer and Flight Navigator’s Licenses.
It is again one of the extensive Examination of:

- Digestive and metabolic disorders
- Urinary system
- Gynecological examination
- Cardiovascular systems
- ENT examination

STEP BY STEP PROCESS TO ACQUIRE MEDICAL CERTIFICATE:
AS A FIRST TIME STUDENT FOR PPL, YOU WILL HAVE TO FOLLOW THE BELOW GIVEN STEPS:
- Medical Profile at PCAA to get the Reference number.
- Airborne aviation shall be issuing a letter with that Ref No. for the medical certificate proceeding.
- Visit to Medical board of PCAA (location) for document submission and getting initial prescription for medical tests required for the certificate.
- Prescribed tests will be done at CMH Lahore only:
- Urine test
- ECG
- ENT
- Eyesight
- Blood Pressure
- Audiometry
- Reports to be submitted at CAA Medical board In-charge for PCAA at INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LAHORE.
- Psychometric Evaluation via personality test and IQ test will be conducted by the medical In charge at CMH Lahore
- IF ANY FURTHER TESTS ARE REQUIRED, it will be prescribed by the medical team.
- Medical Board will conclude all the results and a Medical Certificate will be issued if no additional examinations are required.
RENEWAL OF MEDICAL LICENSES
FOR PRIVATE PILOT’S LICENSE:
A yearly renewal of Class II medical Certificate is required.
FOR COMMERCIAL PILOT’S LICENSE:
A yearly renewal of Class I medical Certificate is required.
