Commercial Pilot License (CPL) allows the holder to work as an Aircraft Pilot for Commercial Flights.

CPL is the first and foremost step for aspiring Professional Pilots in aviation career.

Privileges of Commercial Pilot License

CPL holder Pilot can act and work as a Pilot or Co-Pilot in Command for any aircraft he/she is endorsed with the License for any Revenue/Commercial Flights.

Ground Studies For Theoretical Knowledge

For the issuance of CPL, aspiring students must undergo 7 PCAA exams. Student shall undergo ground training in the following subjects:

  • Air Law
  • Aircraft General Knowledge (AGK)
  • Mass & Balance
  • Flight Performance
  • Operational Procedures (AIP, NOTAMS, Aeronautical Codes and Abbreviations)
  • Meteorology
  • Navigation
  • Principles of Flight
  • Human Performance & Limitations
  • VFR and IFR Communication
  • Instrumentation
  • Radio Navigation
  • Flight Planning

Flying Experience

150 hours of Flight training is required for CPL. The duration of the course is 18 months, starting from the issue of SPL.

Pre-Requisites​

  • PCAA Issued Valid Student Pilot License (SPL)
  • PCAA Issued Valid Private Pilot License (PPL)
  • Educational Qualification of at least Higher Secondary School Certificate or Equivalent
  • Minimum 18 Years of Age
  • Valid Medical Certificate (At Least Class 1) by CAMB
